Ing’ombe Ilede

Ingombe Ilede, meaning "Sleeping Cow" in the local Tonga language, is an important Iron Age archaeological site near the confluence of the Zambezi and Lusitu rivers. Discovered in 1960, the site revealed artifacts indicating a sophisticated trading civilization dating back to the 7th century.
